Jane Goodall

This is Neil and I with Jane Goodall at the Abravenal Hall in Salt Lake. Neil heard her speak when he was a kid in Kenya and she has been one of his heroes. She is an amazing lady and at 72 she still travels 300 days out of the year lecturing about conservation. We had to wait 90 min in line to get to meet her, but it was well worth it.

I'm so jealous that you got to meet her. I believe she is actually 73 soon to be 74.

I guess I have already made it pretty clear how I feel about Ms. Goodall. And it isn't that she isn't a good scientist. She is. She actually went against the grain when politically motivated research was trying to establish the great apes as peacefull and vegetarian, ie everything human beings aren't and should be.

It is just that so many like her are so predictably trading A level science for D level everyday ordinary political activism. Boring.

Sorry when I say boring, it is not the post, I am glad you got a chance to meet her, it is just that she used to be very interesting in comparison and now only talks about political activism the quality of which I can get from any guy knocking on my door looking for donations to green peace. Boy are they sorry to have knocked on my door. I should have a sign on my door that says 'solicitors may be argued down until they are about two inches tall.'
