Quesadilla-rama

We at Donna's Test Kitchen are heavily into creation of quesadilla recipes until May 1st - the deadline for the first draft of the quesadilla manuscript.

DTK welcomes all quesadilla recipes - the more exotic, the better.

If you entry is accepted, the prize will be an entry on the "Acknowledgements" section of the book AND a gourmet meal cooked for your dining pleasure featuring - you guessed it! - QUESADILLAS!!!

How about 'Quesadillas por los Idiotes'?

Just kidding, I will have to think about it for a while.

Or is that 'por los Estupidos'? I forget my Spanish. That is I never learned any. Tee hee.

Sorry I was confused, I thought your title contest was on quesadillas. How about 'Cooking to the quick?' or 'Instandly Eating?'

I happen to think that the quick food topic is way more overdone than anything called everyday gourmet, but obviously your publisher and I don't see eye to eye on everything. Plus people that want cheap easy food usually just buy it or whip it up and don't usually use cookbooks anyway, and if they do there are like fifty zillion on this title. Oh well.

I have a quesadilla recipe, not to specific but i am sure you could make it more official:

Carmelized onions
Sundried tomatoes
Jack Cheese]
Broiled chicken

Caramelized onions are great - will definitely work on your suggestion.

Call me sometime so we can talk "quesadilla talk" , and much more important topics - - - such as getting together with the Morgans!

Though I am not leaving a quesdilla comment, we wanted to say that Aunt Donna rules! :)
Thanks for all your comments and we are excited to stay in touch through blogs!

I certainly hope, considering how my April Fools joke went over, that people get my joke about the quesadilla cookbook: 'Quesadillas for dummies' EN ESPANOL, POR FAVOR?

I don't usually think it is cool to explain my own joke, I just didn't want anyone thinking that I was insulting the intelligence of any food lovers or food cookers. HASTA!

Sorry for all the posts, I always do this because I don't think of everything all at once - slow, I guess.

But that last comment reminds me that I always thought 'Hasta La Pasta' would be a good cookbook name, except I just googled it and it is already the name of a restaurant.

Plus I am not so good at cooking pasta. Oh well, guess that wasn't a helpful comment at all.

I think you should definitely include a spinach & feta quesadilla, based on spanakopita. A "Spanakopidilla", if you will.

How about a vanilladilla . . . like a fried ice cream type of thing.

or, a godzilladilla in the shape of a dinosaur or an armadillodilla even. Maybe a chinchilladilla with a lot of fur (string cheese?) on it? Or a gorilladilla with bananas in it?

How bout a winstonchurchilladilla in the shape of Big Ben?

Hehe. Just being silly.

I don't recomend doing a salmonelladilla tho.

Thanks, guys.

I like "punny" names.

Remember the "Strawberry Shortilla" in the tortilla book?

Jake Kelly's brilliant idea, of course!

I wonder how a brie and apple combo would go over? Hmm.

You could also have a "deconstructed" quesadilla centering around fondue . . . Hmm some more . . .

How about a BLTilla? I think Colby cheese might go well with that. Regular bacon or fakin' (soy) optional, naturally.

Pizzadillas with mozzarella, fresh basil & tomato are a must, of course.

I'm sure I'll think of more. :)

JP's offerings are classic, by the way. I especially Godzilladilla - ou really ought to come up with one for that.
